Monday 4th March 4 avenue de New York, Paris

In a world where many still think black is the only fashionable colour, at a time when beige is being forecast as the must have colour of the season, Mira is a wonderful antidote in her colour recklessness.

The amazing space with views across to the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides was an unfinished site, so cans of spray paint and anything from the floor to the wall boarding as a canvas was a tempting lure, but I looked at the clothes first.

Blanket coats in wonderful checks, sequinned shirts and trousers, bright prints and almost ethnic embroideries tumbled across the space, both on rails and on live models. A happy atmosphere reigned and smiles were everywhere.

A bright printed dress with a big low flounce has a slightly Russian expressionist art feeling to the pattern, a hoodie with rainbow sleeves was ready for any parade, and a sweater crocheted into a bobbly stripe came in sugar and bubble gum pink, bilberry, pine green, and sunshine yellow.

A neat Prince of Wales blazer/coat had bright banana yellow knitted sleeves, a sporty bomber came in pink, red, sky, baby and deep blue, plus mint green and yellow. A huge towelling surfaced sweater came with Matisse like drawings a blue and white giant gingham check boasted a band of patterned fabric in apricot, pistachio, banana and white. So you get the idea?

These are clothes to lift the spirits, to wear in amazing combinations, as the designer was doing herself, or to simply expat the a favourite piece and add it to jeans, a simple skirt or whatever basics you choose, because these are timeless, seasonless collectables.

It’s not only fun it’s investment pieces which ass zest to your wardrobe and tour life.

Just look at the Art Deco abstract in rich shades of navy, lemon, forest green, ginger, amethyst and silver lurex worn under a totally mismatched check fringed blanket coat; now that’s a look.
