Rouge Margaux – Spring/Summer 2019, September 29, 2018 – In-store Rue Mabillon, Paris
Rouge Margaux showed the Spring 19 collection in the new store just opened on the rue Mabillon.
There the brand had setup a modern version of a tearoom show with lanky well-clad models to show-off the new looks for next season.
These exuded sporty, silky, luxury with an ever-so-slight, sexy appeal.
Silhouettes with extra long sleeves, double layered skirts with sashes hanging from horizontal slashes, bottoms of tops detachable from their eyelet and ribbon seams, oversize sports-coats with sleeve shoulders gapping and revealing layered quilted velvet flaps where some of the nobly inspired sporty looks.
Layering was rife, the color palate tight. Lots of ultramarine “the” color of this season, brick by way of hound’s-tooth checked-plaid, faded magenta, slate-blue, coal, added with smatterings of red, camel and green to highlight the rest.
Cem Cinar of Turkish/ Dutch origin looks like he would be as comfortable on a skateboard as he is being interviewed on camera for his last collection.
And his collection exudes the same contrast as it’s designer in its luxury versus its playful, punk, sporty look. Earmark this label as one to continue to watch!
