Anaïs Jourden – return to romance please.
Anaïs Jourden Ready to Wear, spring-summer 2019 – Paris Fashion Week
At her first Paris installation the clothes by Anaïs Jourden were a huge delight, with a femininity without sweetness running through the collection, and an instant hit with anyone who saw them, this theme continued as her signature and over the seasons some beautiful pieces have been shown.

The latest collection of slinky dresses, shown with heels the models could barely walk in at a gentleman’s club, and featuring some very odd fabrications has strayed so far away from her signature, it was hard to remember why people loved her clothes so much.
A pink organza dress was just one example of bad construction and the fit of many of pieces was really not great.
The shift from the school playground of the first showing to this slightly sleazy venue was a shift too far, certainly for this observer.
I’m a fan, of the dresses especially, which Anais Jourden has shown and it isn’t with any pleasure I suggest a re think is due, to examine what made her clothes a success in the first place and what this latest collection offered by contrast.
Hopefully this was just a hiccup, in what had so far been a strong career as a very good designer.
