Alexandre Vauthier Ready to Wear Spring 2019 collection
After his wonderful catwalk shows at prêt-a-porter, it’s great to have a tranquil moment to visit Alexandre Vauthier in his beautiful Avenue Marceau showroom.

The opportunity to see both couture and ready to wear on the rails, and in the hand, is not to be missed.
Firstly, there is the immaculate tailoring which is of the highest possible standards; the crisp finish of the sharply peaked revers on a hammered satin jacket is breathtakingly marvellous.
The drape of the soft pieces, and the lightness of touch in the handling of taffeta or pleats- everything speaks of quality, polish, professionalism and glamour.
Colour impact is amazing, with Vauthier and his team somehow able to match five or six different fabrics into a totally matching group.
A rail of citrus yellow, a rail of orange the colour of orange peel, and a rail of a colour somewhere between fudge, caramel, mocha or cafe au lait.
There’s even a rail of tiger print to delight those swept up in the trend.
Each group contains all the great pieces you expect from this designer; tailoring, sexy skirts, billowing or draped blouses and cascades of mousseline and plissé.
Shimmer and shine never overbalanced each group, since there is a separate rail of sparkling, shiny, glittering sequined pieces.
It’s when viewing the work of a designer who truly understands what his clients desire; a top quality product, a love of polished gloss matched with an approach to fashion as glamour.
And finally, you realize the long journey some designers are going to have to make to reach this standard.
Respect and admiration for Alexandre Vauthier please!
